Fort Collins, Colorado is located between the northeastern plains and the Colorado Rockies.   This western town has a population of some 100,000 people and maintains the feel of a small town.  Its downtown area was restored in the early 1980s and provides a natural linkeage of small shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs.  It has a quiet pedestrian mall and many outdoor cafes.

Colorado State University (CSU), has a youthful edge, with many university-sponsored programs and sporting events.   Fort Collins is the gateway for many vacationers and is near Rocky Mountain National Park.
