Welcome to the Greeley, Colorado
Senior Information Network
Founded by the Union Colonists in 1870, Greeley has enjoyed steady, sustained
growth. Today it's the largest town in the Northeast Region, with a population of
70,000. The town's wide streets are shaded by trees, many of which were planted by
settlers in the 1870s. Cattle and crops are still the moving forces behind the
town's economy. History is perhaps the reason to come to Greeley. James
Michener lived here while writing Centennial. The University of Northern
Colorado is well known for its education and music programs. Another Greeley
attraction is the Denver Broncos Training Camp. You can watch practices and
scrimmages each July and August as the Broncos prepare for yet another NFL season.
