Located on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, Houston is a vibrant and beautiful area. Houston, the fourth largest city in the country, is well known for its cultural diversity, growing economy, medical facilities, shopping, entertainment, and educational facilities.

Houston has an amiable year-round climate. The normal winter maximum temperature is typically 65 F, the normal summer maximum is 92 F, the normal spring maximum is 78 F and the fall maximum is 80 F. Humidity is prevalent in Houston and can often make the weather feel warmer, especially during the summer.

Houston is home to the Texas Medical Center, the largest and one of the most successful medical care and research facilities in the world.  Houston was ranked as the third most livable city in the country by Places Rated Almanac in 1996 and 1997.
